OCHL Protocols (Oshawa Church Hockey League)

PrintOCHL Protocols
Hi Coaches and Guardians,
We are excited to see the players on the ice this weekend and want to take this time to bring everyone up to date on vaccine, COVID and arena protocols.
Vaccine Policy

Players
 - as mandated by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, all players 12 years and up, as well as coaching staff, must be fully vaccinated (2 weeks our from their 2nd dose) by Oct. 31.  While the OCHL is not collecting copies of vaccine receipts, proof of vaccination must be shown to the coach who will track and provide confirmation to our COVID officer.

Spectators
 - as mandated by the government, all spectators 12 years and up must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccine to City staff before entering the facilities.
All players, coaching staff and spectators must complete the online screening form within 60 minutes of entering the facilities.  You will find the link in the attached City of Oshawa document.
Arena Entry
Our arenas will be using the main entrances.
Please follow the direction of City staff and any arrows/signage upon entering the arenas.
Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a snapshot of our most frequently asked questions::

  • All arenas will be operating at full capacity as of October 22
  • Spectators and Bench staff must wear masks at all times
  • There are no longer restrictions as to when teams/spectators can enter the facility, however dressing rooms may not always be available earlier than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled ice time
  • Spectators should leave immediately after the scheduled ice time in order to keep congestion at a minimum
  • Teams must vacate within 20 minutes of leaving the ice

Keeping our players safe is the OCHL's top priority.  If you child is not feeling well, please do not send them to the arena.  If a player falls ill at the arena, they will be separated from the team and should be taken home immediately.  If you have been identified as a high-risk contact or are awaiting COVID test results, please contact our COVID officer to discuss return to play.
If anyone should have any questions, please contact the COVID officer at [email protected]
